Friends visiting us for the first time described where we live as the place where the forest meets the sea. This description inspired me and I began creating things that honor the seacoast. Then, in 2019 I entered a tablescape competition setting a table with an over-the-top coastal theme using placemats, napkins, and napkin rings I made. I won the award for Best Interpretation of a Chosen Theme and I was hooked! I started Sandcastle Studio NH (a home on the coast) to bring seacoast and seasonal décor to others.

The beach is a sacred place. Walking along the water as I reflect about life brings me peace. My favorite place to walk is a little know place called Little Boar’s Head Scenic Walk. I try to capture the magic I feel when I’m there in what I make.

I love words that come from wise women. Maya Angelou and Amanda Gorman are two that come to mind. You may find their quotes on things that I embroider. “For there is always light if we are only brave enough to be it.” Gorman.
